What Happens During Class?
Welcome Circle (5-10 min): We start on the floor together, learning names, warming up with stretches, and getting the wiggles out.
Warm-Up & Technique (15-20 min): Building strength and coordination through animal walks, balance games, basic positions, and footwork—all in a playful, age-appropriate way.
Creative Exploration (15-20 min): The fun part! Your child might:
Learn choreography for our showcase
Play freeze dance or dance with colorful scarves
Practice turns, leaps, or tap rhythmsCreate their own moves and improvise
Work on group routines with friends
Cool-Down & Reflection (5 min): We gather under the parachute or in a circle, take deep breaths, stretch, and share our favorite moments from class.
Our teaching artists balance structure with creativity—so kids learn real skills while feeling free to express themselves.
Frequently Asked Questions
What if my child has never taken a dance class before?
Perfect! Our classes are designed with beginners in mind. We meet each child where they are—whether it's their very first time or they've danced before.
Our teaching artists use a child-centered approach that makes everyone feel welcome and successful from day one.
What should my child wear to class?
Comfortable clothes they can move in! Leggings, leotards/tights, t-shirts, shorts—whatever lets them stretch, jump, and spin freely.
For shoes, bare feet or socks work great to start or sneakers for Hip Hop. No need to invest in official dance shoes right away—wait until you're sure your child loves the class and wants to continue.
Can parents stay and watch?
Absolutely! Parents are welcome to observe class or use our comfortable waiting area. We want you to feel involved in your child's creative journey, and many parents love seeing their little ones light up during class.
What if my child is shy or gets nervous in new situations?
We completely understand! Our small class sizes (12:1 ratio) mean your child gets personalized attention and encouragement.
Our instructors are experienced at helping shy kids feel comfortable and included. Many of our most confident performers started out hesitant—it's all part of the journey, and we're here to support them every step of the way.
Do you offer trial classes?
We don't offer one-off trial classes because consistency is key to building trust and community in our small groups.
However, we stand behind our program 100%—if your child doesn't enjoy their first two classes, we'll happily refund your session fee. This way, your child gets a real feel for the class rhythm and connections, and you have peace of mind knowing there's no risk.
